My friend bought a 1999 BMW 328i and he came up to visit one weekend.  We decided to do a little back road touring around the hills of Decorah and the surrounding area.  It was about 120 miles - check out our route:

Here I am following... just heading out of Spillville.  County road W14 has some really nice curves... lots of 'em are marked 25 mph or slower.  We could scoot right through most of them at 40 mph or more.

We stopped in Ridgeway and swapped vehicles.  It had been ages since I've been in a car with a sunroof!  Nice to still have somewhat of an open car feel (I've been bitten by the cabriolet bug - can't get enough of that top down action!).  That Bimmer sure is a great touring car, not exactly Porsche performance but quite comfortable.  I could easily live with one as a daily driver.  Kinda strange seeing my car behind me.

After a refreshing malt at the Whippy Dip in Decorah, we explored many of the back roads and this cultisack was a nice chance to get the cars together for a quick photo.

And once again... some back roads of Iowa.

This was nearing the end of our afternoon fun - this park overlooks the town of Eldorado.
